The Smart Shopper’s Guide: UK Deals Worth Checking This Week

UK Deals Worth Checking This Week, Before They Disappear

Saving money doesn't always mean giving up the things you enjoy. Sometimes, it simply means knowing where to look before you spend.

This week, UK shoppers have plenty of opportunities to cut the cost of groceries, fashion, travel and everyday essentials.

🛍️ 1. Check supermarket loyalty prices

If you already shop at Tesco, Sainsbury's or another major supermarket, don't forget to check your loyalty-card prices before filling your basket.

Tesco currently has thousands of summer-related products on promotion, including selected Clubcard offers. For example, some everyday grocery products are currently discounted for Clubcard members.

Sainsbury's has also rolled out more than 7,000 Nectar Prices offers across groceries and everyday favourites.

👗 2. Summer clearance is your friend

August is one of the best times to look for end-of-season reductions. Retailers are clearing summer stock to make room for autumn ranges, which can mean bigger discounts on clothing, outdoor products and seasonal items.

Tip: Don't just look at the percentage discount. Ask yourself: Would I have bought this if it wasn't on sale?

📱 3. Could you reduce your phone bill?

If your mobile contract is coming to an end, this could be a good week to compare SIM-only deals.

Current August deal guides show a range of SIM-only options, including lower-cost plans from major UK networks.

A £10 monthly saving might not sound exciting, but that's £120 back in your pocket every year.

✈️ 4. Look at last-minute holiday deals

Planning a late summer escape?

EasyJet Holidays currently advertises seven-night holidays from £279 per person, with selected departures between August and October 2026 and savings of up to £700.

TUI is also promoting current holiday offers, including selected Disney packages with savings of up to £400.

💷 The real money-saving trick

The biggest saving isn't necessarily finding a product that's 50% off.

It's not buying something you don't need just because it's 50% off.

Before checking out, ask:

“Was this already on my shopping list?”

If the answer is no, the best deal might be leaving it behind.

Bottom line: This week, check your supermarket loyalty offers, summer clearance sections, mobile deals and travel promotions before paying full price.
